The Oceans

The Oceans contain about 97% of the Earth’s water and cover around 71% of our planet’s surface.

Why Dive?

Getting into the water and being immersed in the largest ecosystem on earth is special. As a marine biologist I have utilised all types of diving, SCUBA, freediving and snorkelling, to further my understanding of aquatic life. I have dived to document specific sharks and their behavioural interactions, to conduct habitat surveys and to explore ecosystem dynamics. But for me it is more than something work related, put simply, I just love being in the water. Which is just as well considering I spend the vast majority of my time in water <10 °C!

Testimonial

“I was delighted recently to book a One to One snorkelling guiding session with Lauren. It was a fantastic session learning to build confidence in the water, improve my snorkelling skills and learn so much about the marine habitat along the Moray Firth coastline and species that Lauren is an expert on. I can’t wait to go out again and would thoroughly recommend anyone interested in being in our beautiful coastal waters to get in touch with Lauren and it was fab being in the company of a Marine Biologist!”
